A group of students being punted up the river on a sunny day, Canterbury

Welcome to Canterbury

Minutes from the coast and a short train ride from London, historic Canterbury has been a source of inspiration for hundreds of years.

You’ll find our Canterbury campus on the city’s doorstep, with shops, nightlife and train links to London all within walking distance. Here you can study alongside like-minded people, with everything you’ll need to broaden your creative horizons.

Canterbury Campus

Our Canterbury campus is the oldest higher education institution in the city, dating back to the 1800s. Its more recent claim to fame is that singer Ian Dury taught Fine Art here in the 1970s.

Courses based here include Architecture, Fine Art, Illustration and Animation, and Graphic Design. There are purpose-built studios, workshops and lecture theatres, all within a relaxed and creative environment, with all the facilities you’ll need to excel.

Canterbury Accommodation

The on-campus Ian Dury House and nearby Hotham Court are both self-catered with shared kitchens, and offer a mix of en-suite and shared bathrooms.

Student life in Canterbury

With a relaxed on-campus atmosphere, plenty of Students’ Union events and a cosmopolitan and historic city on your doorstep, student life here can be anything you want it to be. The Kent coast, cross-Channel links and the bright lights of London are all just a stone’s throw away, so whether you fancy a relaxed day by the sea or a night out in the capital, you’ll have plenty of options.
